This initiative aims to reintroduce hemp products, helping to dispel the stigma surrounding them and produce more eco-friendly everyday objects
Reintroducing through education
Photography is used to narrate the hemp production process and educate the public on its safety. Over the past three exhibitions, specific focus has been given to showcasing sattica and hemp products
Hemp mask & sling pouch
Hemp fabric, a top-tier material, was reintroduced through a design that embodies the 'form meets function' principle. In 2021, amidst COVID-19, antimicrobial hemp mask and sling pouch to store the mask were produced. We collaborated with the Mantang People, Myanmar refugees in Kuala Lumpur
Commuter laptop backpack 25l
In 2022, once borders opened, we relocated production to Kathmandu, Nepal, entrusting it to locals familiar with hemp. Our first product, a feature-rich laptop backpack, brought to Amsterdam in October, addressing common market issues

Amsterdam 2023
Sattica's fifth exhibition, and its first in Europe, was recently held in Amsterdam. The Cloud Gallery, located on Prinsengracht, welcomed Akar Arts – an exhibition featuring the works of five Malaysian artists. Among them, Riff Ariffin had the opportunity to present Sattica's latest collection. Additionally, a photograph from the "Love Nepal" series was also showcased at the event

Kathmandu 2022
Sattica's fourth exhibition, and its first international showcase outside Malaysia, took place at Kathmandu ArtHouse. This event featured a series of nine photographs from the "Love Nepal" series. The exhibition's focus was on documenting the hemp processing and production. The highlight was "Amma of Humla-Handmade," a photographic portrayal of the authentic Nepalese hemp-making process

Kuala Lumpur 2018
In 2018, after returning to Malaysia from India, Riff Ariffin joined a group art exhibition by Art Seni at The Linc Jalan Tun Razak. Concurrently developing Sattica, Malaysia's first hemp label, he showcased photographs from Malana Village in India. This theme, novel to Malaysian audiences, garnered curiosity and success, with two of the three photographs being sold, indicating a growing interest in this unique subject matter
